Spot is a response to the material parameters set forth for the group exhibition Infinite Games 50/50, for which 50 artists were asked to create works using discarded furniture from 50 closed Chicago Public Schools. A telescope inside the fourth-floor apartment at Open House Contemporary is trained on a distant rooftop. There, visible only through the telescope, is a school chair with the word "PEST" in reflective tape. The piece offers a view separated by distance but collapsed by optics, focused on a tiny point in the complex urban cityscape.
