Installations > Laguna

Laguna implants sounds recorded in Venice into an austere 6-channel setting in the gallery of the Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago. The lower speakers present a continuous soundscape of the Venetian lagoon, while the upper speakers present sporadic, abrupt punctuated sounds (a burst of laughter, a kicked ball, etc.).

A Sense of Place, curated by Kate Zeller for the Italian Cultural Institute, 2002, and subsequently through documentation at the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale, 2003
