Twins
Twins (2018) occupies the entire southeast wall Sector 2337, the gallery where it was exhibited, approximately 25 feet long and 9 feet high. It consists of a pencil-line grid of 220 2-inch squares, arranged in two rows that extend across the entire wall, divided into eleven bands two inches high and 20 inches long. Eleven sets of twins in Chicago were invited to the gallery to be fingerprinted in red ochre, each finger marking one square of the grid. The rear of the wall is painted floor to ceiling in red ochre, lit in such a way as to cast a red ochre glow on white wall opposite.
